Laser Cutting Technology

Laser cutting and laser micromachining are non-contact processes which utilize a laser for micro drilling, micro milling, micromachining, micro-patterning, micro scribing and ablation for industrial applications. The cut and feature edges are of high quality with little no burring, low surface roughness and dimensional accuracy.

Laser cutting machines for medical device manufacturing are rapidly emerging as the preferred tool for many cutting or machining applications, particularly when superior edge quality, tight dimensional tolerances and/or high volume production is required. Medical device laser cutting is used extensively in the design and manufacture of medical devices and implants such as stents, heart valves and other medical devices as well as medical tools and components and improves the fit, form and function.

There are a number of things that can affect the performance of medical devices, such as how the shape is cut and fits in your device, how micro-cracks can cause failures and how post processing can affect the cost of your medical products. Laser cutting produces tight tolerances, tubular medical components and devices and allows difficult cutting components to be manufactured fast and extremely accurate while being flexible and cost effective.

AGNOTEX specializes in laser cutting 2D (two dimensional) flat parts and customizing 3D (three dimensional) pre-fabricated components. We have the capability of cutting up to 0.187″ thick material in a 34″W x 34″L footprint. Our focus is on precision cutting of complex geometries with close feature-to-feature positioning, such as small holes or narrow slot arrays with close tolerances.

We also offer precision tube cutting by introducing a 4th axis used for tube rotation during the cutting process. This allows us to laser cut cylindrical tubes from 0.0125″ through 6″ diameter.
